Do they want max length, show off shoes, wedding walking down isle, for function or photos or ankle height? Each of the above has its own style, outlined below. Max Length, The finished length should be just off the ground when standing. Check when walking if hem is dropping and hitting ground, if this happens just come up till it stops. Not Showing Socks. This is a little shorter than Max Length about 1 inch (2.5cm) off the ground. When walking check that the socks are not flashing form the side. You need to be looking at floor level for this. Not Bagging on front. This is where the crease line stays straight till the top of shoes. This is recommend for standing photos. Shocks will show when walking. Boots. These hems can be shorter, but only if they always ware boots. Check for hem clearance to boot and that bagging on the front. Lower Ankle Style. This is more applicable to chinos, but some people want to show socks and some ankle. Pin to the customers desired style, must record measurements for this just in case customer changes mind.
